Snowy Range First Hand Ski Reports

update your stats snowy range!
It is true that the bank now runs SRSA, and its much better that way. Snowy Range has never been a high class resort but its a good place for a day trip or family vacation for new skiers. I ski at Snowy and the backcountry surrounding the area twice a week and this has been the best snow year since I came to Laramie five years ago.
Try snowyrangeski.com. The lodge phone number is 307-745-5750. This is a good place for beginners, but I think that it is being run by the banks now as the old owners filed for bankruptcy. In my opinion, the bank is doing a better job of running it.
Hello up there, We are here in Fort Collins and I just heard of Snowy Range. My wife grew up in Loveland CO and never heard of this place. It is so close to us. Can someone tell us where to call since the where else to go to find pricing and other info since their site is not up. Is it true that the bank is operating it. Sounds like a nice place. Place leave a comment here or tweet me at http://www.twitter.com/RobAdvertising We need a good family place to go that is low cost. I would love to drive north and not in the busy Colorado resorts that are high price.
It says closed but it us open....
Any one know wen they open?
i live 5 min away and 9 out of 10 times it is a verrrrrrrry good time the only problem is that they do not have decent jumps... lol some times no jumps at all
The slopes are pretty decent, yesterday a man unfortunatly shattered his femur. Another woman dislocated both of her hips, other than that the hills are fine
cant belive you would want to ski crap like this! slow lifts icy runs what more could you ask for? the cheap lift tickets are kind of nice but this place sucks big time! awful runs! very disapointing.
The local website says that they have a 64 inch base and 6" of new snow as of 02-09-09
Spent two days at Snowy Range Dec. 22-23. The staff was very nice and made sure that we had a great time. One lift open, due to the lack of snow, with eight trails open, they were making snow along with a couple of inches falling a night, looked as if everything else would be opened up by the weekend. Ski school is ran on Thurs.- Sat. Lift tickets are a bargain, great family ski spot.
December 22nd - Fort Collins One lift was running. Snow cover was patchy on the beginner run. The intermediate runs were well-covered. It was windy. Lift operators were friendly and helpful. The season pass deal was so good, we couldn't pass it up.
Visited with an individual at the University of Wyoming student union. They are offering some great deals on season passes. Students should take advantage of those.
Per Snowy Range's Website: Opening date Dec 20th. From Dec 20th through Jan 7th, will be open 7 days a week 8:30 am to 3:30pm From Jan 7th to Easter will be closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays
My sister & I were lucky to snowboard here for three awesome days of freash powder (3/28, 3/29 & 3/30). We basically had the mt to ourself, to make freash tracks everywhere! no lift lines. Friendliest staff we've ever come across. We went to Whistler from 3/8 to 3/15th - spent about 5 times as much than snowy range, and the conditions in Whistler were no where near than Snowy Range in Laramie W
Tried the easter snow today. That 4" of powder was a skiers dream! There were plenty of trails open all over the park and almost no wind and steady temps in the 30's. If you really want to rule the whole mountain as King/Queen then go during the weekdays, as that may not be a problem for most spring breakers. Once it warms up, who knows how long is left until Snowy ends another season.
Just got back from 4 days of skiing at Snowy Range: it was the best. Great snow, great facilities, extremely helpful & friendly staff, virtually no waiting in lift lines, great for the kids &, best of all, the prices are half of what you would pay in Colorado or many other well-known places. No discos or expensive restaurants & shops, but who cares about that if you want good skiing?
One secret to all... When they open, they have discounts on the first Saturday of every month... Like UW & TEK'ER Student discounts for about $20.00 a day.
First and last time to snowy range, we waited in line for 1.5 hours to get skis, they had 16 people not show for work so only one of the lifts where open, no ski school, and over 400 people that where to say the least very upset. They did refund our tickets but it ruined our ski vacation.
Talked to Snowy Range on Tuesday, December 26. They said they have had three feet of snow in the last week, and all runs are open. However, they also said only two lifts are open. I assume that means all runs are snow-covered, but I'm not sure if they are all accessible with only two lifts open. It sounded like they are dealing with staff shortages.
