Today is the last day of skiing at Wintergreen for the Spring. Yesterday there was a lot of melting and a growing number of bare spots. Few lines.

Snow making going on...Make sure to bring a ski mask and or goggles. Thick base but maybe a little icy at night when temp drops. All trails on Big acorn lift are open, most trails in highlands are open and if you want to hit the rails or some big jumps the park is open as well. Not many crowds at night so if you have to go on the weekend i recomend night sking.

Went riding on Saturday the 26th. Wicked crowded lines and slopes but about what can be expected for a holiday weekend. The lift operators did a good job corralling the lines and getting people through. Warm weather all day that made for great night riding because it prevented the ground from icing up. Best part was that the crowds weren't there at night.

Rode on Monday (1/28/08) morning and it was very crowded...the Highlands were open so go there if you want less beginners in your way. Conditions were better than expected with man-made snow and drought. It started to warm up a bit and the snow was really sloppy as the day progressed. Best skiing in VA by far.
