Gore Mountain Ski Report

Was at Gore this weekend Mar 8-9, 2008 -- heard it was a great mountain. Tough weekend, though. Rain showers never changed to snow as predicted and very dense fog fell on the mountain making skiing very dangerous. One run and we were done. Sunday's weather was much colder turning everything to ice. Gore mountain had no power -- therefore no ski lifts for the day. Maybe next year.

My brother and I went to Gore Mountain this past weekend and had a great time. The staff is very friendly and no long lift lines. The snow conditions were good with some ice patches but overall B+/A- conditions. Plenty of trails were opens and I definitely recommend this resort for any level snowboarder.

Skied Saturday, the mt is bumping again with most glades back in play. Rumors is closed, but they were blasting away with the snow guns on Saturday. Conditions were optimal. Hping the cold stays and we get another dump!

January 2nd -

Our party arrived 1/1/2008 from NYC to find absolutely perfect conditions. Excellent trails, plenty of fresh snowfall, and a well groomed environment. Extremely nice local hotel a few minutes away. Well worth the extra 115 miles past hunter to find far better trails. Pack your own food though: terrible! Twice the price and half the quality of a high school cafeteria! Overall, an excellent time!

Thank goodness for snow on Dec 31. But on Dec 30 you could have called the place "More Ice" instead of "More Gore". Gore needs to step up there grooming. Even after the snow fall on Sunday night, why didn't Mike send a groomer up to the summit? Gore also should think about grading the run offs at the top of each chair lift. I watched a number of folks tumble off the adirorduck express.
