Brantling Ski Slopes is a small area in Sodus, NY that bills itself as "a family oriented snow sports area with a friendly atmosphere," and that's what you'll find. With a 240' vertical and no trails rated higher than a blue square, Brantling focuses on being a place for people learning to ski or improving their technique, and provides a place for the local residents to go to enjoy outdoor activity during the winter months. There is also racing and race training. Terrain 10 runs (8 with lights for nighttime operation), 1 T-bar and 5 Cable Tow lifts are what you'll find at Brantling. Nothing here is particularly difficult and all but the true novices should be able to handle the entire mountain with ease. The base lodge has all the necessary amenities, food, a lounge, rentals and a ski shop. There are group and private lessons available and snow is made on about half the terrain if mother nature isn't cooperating.
