Red lode is great.
I have been skiing there for seven years. It is a toss up with snow conditions i agree, but if you know anything about this mountain then you know were the powder spots are. A word of advice, stay off the beginner trails they are the worst. It is a great resort for people who dislike the whole commercial aspect of skiing. Some of the best moments of my life have been on the top of the coal creek chair just looking down at all the pow. O and did i mention the prices are wicked cheap. Great hill for the price and a great town to be around, just hit up the snowcreek and you'll know how that town get's down!

This is To The Boards. He is right about the drought. Red Lodge has not gotten any snow since 1996. All the snow that is there right now is man made(probably from rocks). Smaller and smaller dumps of sow come each year(except from the snow machines).

Red Lodge is a huge indicator of how good of a season it is for everyone due to it's position on the eastern front of the range. In the recent years of the drought throughout MT, WY, and the Dak's, notice that last year was a bit colder than normal but still had good snow on The Mountain. This year look for a bigger roll out of the moisture a little sooner to come over and bigger dumps a.k.a pow

Even the guy that said 3-4 inches a year, doesn't even think it snows 3-4 inches a year. He goes on and says,"Yeah right. There's no way that can happen." I think it might snow .5-1 inch this year(if lucky).
