When would be the best time to go to monarch during spring break.....
Short lift lines on weekdays only! Great snow though. Hike for the real stashes.
boarded with the snowcat yesterday. EPIC. they closed Breezway around 1PM yesterday, so it should be fantastic again today. go get it!
went this last weekend. monarch is great for the price! short lift lines and great runs!! i will be getting a season pass next year
Just got to Salida today!! Gonna hit the slopes all week!!
Give us a Monarch update. How's the snow.
Great skiing today. Went on a class trip. Upper Halls was awesome, as was Pinball, B's Bash, Tango, and Gino's Meadow. Lots of snow! A tad chilly, but superb snow. No icy patches or bare spots. And, like always, no wait in the lift line.
Eric from Oklahoma. powder and packed powder today. Overcast sky. 35 degrees. Wicked Skiing
i was up over the weekend and it was the best tree runs ive ever been on. shagnasty was awesome. so much powder!!!
fantastic day! tons of fresh pow, and more to come! you have to see it! lift lines are fast too!
Monarch, is it a good place to go
12" and counting, knee deep in the trees, it's great everywhere!
foot of fresh, and more on the way. freshies for days. Get real "thigh deep and Face shots"
You gapers who ski in boot high snow when it "dumps" 3 or 4 inches love to report "face shots" and "thigh deep". Get real, toads
I can't wait till SB!!! Monarch is calling my name!!!
It is not uncommon to experience thigh deep snow at Monarch, and especially in Mirkwood Basin, after 6" to 8" of new snow, even if that snow happens over a few days. The guy who thinks you need a 24" dump to experience thigh deep snow obviously skis or boards at one of the more crowded (and overrated) "resorts" where all the snow gets chewed up within minutes of opening bell.
Shockingly, Presidents Day wasn't terribly crowded. There was great powder, and the longest I waited in line was 2 minutes. There was about 2 inches of fresh snow. B's Bash was a lot of fun.
It CAN get thigh deep if you hike Mirkwood after a storm of 6" or more, that's a fact. Ever hear of windloading? Get your facts straight as you obviously stick to groomers on pow days.
it doesnt have to snow all in one day cus it snows all week long inch here two three inches there and nobodys there to track its mostly in some of the tree runs....
