it would be cool if this site posted our input within the day. what good is a 2 day old post. basin was real good wednesday, stayed cold enough to keep the snow good. zuma was crunch but front side was great. avalanche claimed a life in the chutes, sad day. if you go ob please know the snow pack, your line and be smart, these things can be avoided and stop going after 11 am, your just asking for trouble.
Probably should take more classes in Nebraska; maybe with a concentration in grammar and distance determination.

Don't get on the middle lift, It only goes up abut 100 feet. The oter ones go up higher and dare are more lifts half way up. Its a winter wonderland!

Ski report, update! Abay got 2". Most inconsistant updating site.
awful visibility but great snow. a few inches overnight plus about two inches during the day mon was enough to cover hardpack most places. montezuma was ok. some pow to be had if you look for it. tuesday should be creamy all over. also: careful if you take the pass over- it was closed this afternoon due to an avalanche.
no fresh snow, but good weather. south faces were a bit crispy. hopefully this storm comes in tonight

rode 6" pow today (monday). yes, there are rocks, but that's what p-tex is for. And that's what you're getting everywhere in the bowls of summit this year... so take what you can get. trees were great! some stashes of 2-3 feet!
Zuma was thin on Saturday, with better snow to be had in pockets of the front side. The whole place needs snow bad.
Montezuma got a good hold on my board with a couple of core shots, stay out of the "powder" that's been around all season or you'll do some seriuos damage to your board.

All the hype about Montezuma is overblown. Read the signage before dropping in: thin cover, rocks everywhere, prepare for damage to your skis. They opened it to say they opened it, but in reality it needs another 3 feet or so before its even worthwhile. Worst snow year for the Basin in a long time, maybe March will bring the goods. With Monty being south-facing, dont expect it to be open for long. Still not pushing a 40" base......so sad! Come on Ullr!!!! Ski Pali!!!

awesome riding today. zuma bowl is still kinda light but the trees have lots of powder!
