 Located a few miles northwest of Truckee, CA, Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area is committed to being "The place for family fun and learning". Wide-open bowls, uncrowded slopes, great beginner terrain, and a friendly, courteous staff await you. We believe smaller can be better. How is that? Tahoe Donner's children's ski school features small classes with lots of personal attention. Tahoe Donner limits ticket sales so crowds are smaller and you can feel better about letting your child roam free on our kid-sized terrain park. Our size allows us to deliver that personal touch that the larger ski areas can't always provide. Terrain Tahoe Donner offers 120 acres of novice and intermediate terrain that is impeccably groomed. Beginners generally ride the Mighty Mite rope tow or the Snowbird Chairlift, but for those with a bit of mileage under their belts, the Mile Run off of Eagle Rock chair can be a great challenge. The terrain park offers beginner friendly features including the "Slip-n-Slide" rail, a favorite amongst younger skiers and riders. When it is time for a break, the cozy day lodge is the perfect place to relax and grab a bite to eat. Check out the kids menu to satisfy the little rumbling bellies in your family. After a day on the slopes, be sure to try the brand new restaurant for dinner and drinks. The Lodge, located just down the road from the ski area, offers an intimate atmosphere with a roaring fire and floor to ceiling windows over looking blankets of snow.
