 Sierra Summit is located in the Sierra National Forest at Huntington Lake, just 65 miles northeast of Fresno, California. This scenic Central California resort offers terrain to challenge all ability levels of both skiers and riders, including three terrain parks and a halfpipe. Seven chairlifts and three surface lifts service over 430 acres, 45 runs, and a vertical drop of 1679 feet. New this season, we've added the scenic Lakeview Chair, servicing 5 new runs on the Westridge with a breathtaking view of Huntington Lake. Terrain The new Westridge opening this winter is great for families since the special topography on this part of the mountain presents itself in order of user ability level from high intermediate to advanced beginner. The runs get progressively easier as you go further west until you reach the new Westridge Run, which requires an ability level just above that of Academy, our famous top-to-bottom 2.25 mile-long run for beginners. Those seeking freestyle terrain will enjoy our halfpipe as well as three separate parks which include the "Canyon", the "Ridge" and the always-popluar "Tollhouse" park. Together, they provide a full mix of jumps in all shapes and sizes with step-ups, step-downs, tables, hips and spines as well as a variety of jibs including new custom-made rails and boxes. Our parks offer terrain to challenge all levels even the most experienced riders and skiers. For those just starting, check out our Family Fun Zones with gentle rollers and small jumps, perfect for introducing kids and beginners to freestyle excitement. Sierra Summit offers an on-site full-service rental shop, sport shop, snowsports school and a variety of dining options from the Mid-Mountain Chill and Grill to evening dining at the Inn. Other eating options include the Day Lodge's scenic outdoor deck and the slopeside Mainstream Station with a full bar and weekend entertainment. Sierra Summit is located in Lakeshore, California and offers slopeside lodging at the Sierra Summit Inn with evening entertainment in the Buckhorn Bar and dining in the Summit Dining Room. Nearby Lakeshore (a few miles) and Shaver Lake (21 miles) communities offer alternative lodging and dining options with a few B&B's and many winter cabin rentals. Other winter recreational opportunities in the immediate area include cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding at the Forest Services' many SnoParks.
