I was at Sierra At Tahoe on February 7th, crunchy packed powder on most of the intermediate and advanced runs. The green runs were hardpacked. Most of the terrain was UNgroomed and lumpy, soft powdery moguls, a lot of opportunity to do small jumps. B- for the day.

This was our first trip to the Lake Tahoe area for skiing. Wow - what an impression it made. Sierra at Tahoe is great for beginner to intermediate - for the kids - and reasonable for the parents. More advanced skiers can be challenged for about a day, still it's worth it. We'll be back!

Just got done boarding the sickest powder with Vic. The site says 24 inches per day, it was more like 3in/hr from 8am to 8am. Well worth the flight from LA.

My family and I went there last 12/17-12/19 2006. Great children's ski school! Very family-friendly mountain with snow-tubing available. Only a small part of the mountain was open becasue of limited snow coverage. 20 minute drive from So. Lake Tahoe with no chain restrictions.
