nicely groomed in the morning. got chopped up on sunrise peak. empty, alone skiing at cyclone and apache. great spring conditions
Kind of slushy, but the snow is pretty good
just got back. Snow was great Sunday -Tues. Good spring conditions today (Wed).
it closes april 4. awesome spring skiing. empty. great deals, tons of sun (multiple applications of sunscreen is a must.). i saw one bare spot. snow is deep but slushy when heated and crusty in the shade.
GREAT spring sking don't over dress can get warm. No lines check website for discount prices.
perfect sunshine, warm! nice groomed runs on apache and cyclone!
I think for the hell of it though, since this might be the best snow had in the next couple years they should keep it open till May. That would be awesome
i think it shuts down April 4th
awesome skiing this weekend. spring skiing conditions. no lines. it's supposed to get hot this week-will probably melt fast. they have great deals too. our kids were $10.
i talkd to the owner of action ride shop in mesa and he was saying that they could be closing the first sunday in april. sunrise was asking them for their unsold lift tickets back. so hes expecting them to close then. just like trlluride. no matter how much snow they close first sunday in april
completly empty. packed powder with areas of ungroomed snow. Loads of fun to be had
sunrise has its catwalks just like snowbowl does. if all you are riding is the beginner catwalks, then you must really suck. there is plenty of challenging terrain to be had if you are a decent rider and much more than pathetic snowbowl, thats a fact. compare the acreage
Snowbowl and sunrise both supposedly close either april 4 0r 10 but im hearing that with this snowpack they both could be open to Late April
Anyone know when sunrise shuts down for the season?
Sunrise is flat at every level...
went to sunrise over the weekend. not one wait in line, fresh 12" of powder to be had. tons of sick bc terrain w/ lift access from cyclone lift (try the cliffs off suicide and ronnies dream for some fun). kinda glad that its further from phx than snowbowl so that all the beginners and weekend warriors dont clutter up the place like snowbowl. terrain makes snowbowl seem like a giant bunny hill. highly recommended!
great powder for the two days i went.
pic from saturday. defintely head over to cyclone for some good open runs
fresh 12" on sunday, monday and tuesday. snow was great, and the crowds were minimal. didnt have to wait at all to get on the lifts. im not used to this because i usually go to snowbowl. never again!
this place is great! no long lines on the weekend like snowblow, and way more sick terrain to be had. this place even offers a student discount. this mtn stomps snowbowl on every level
