this is the only mt ive been on where i had to wait 2+ hours in line. by the time i got up their i had to get a half day pass. this is bu!! sh!&
Sounds like you enjoyed ur hs gym class. Are you two still together?
I tried to get clipped and take the kid down for adoption today. The visibility was bad. I was too scared to venture out. Maybe tomorrow. Sunrise is flat.
I tried to get clipped and go to the adoption agency today but the visibility was bad. I was to scared to venture out. Sunrise is flat.
you sound like my closeted hs gym teacher, calling dudes "ladies". just come out already. dont worry about people judging you
adapt and overcome, by riding better terrain with faster lifts and no waits in line.
went up today. lines were outrageous, of course. place was jampacked w beginners all over the place, falling down the mountain. it was like a noob slalom. place is weak.
Adapt and overcome ladies.
Went up Thursday. First tracks in the trees all day. Tons of POW. Agassiz was down until 10:30. I'm told due to a lightning strike the night before. I asked mother nature for a refund but got stiffed. SO weak. There were 3-4 clouds in the sky at times. The visibility was tough to work thru. I read a book when I got home. YEAAA society.
The or girl who said it was raining is stating a completely false statement. I was there and boy it was snowing. The person who said this probaly saw the weather on this website and saw that it was rain not knowing that the weather on here is in flagstaff which is 2500 feet lower
great day. main lift opened at 11. warmed up on mt real quick
went to sunrise over the weekend. not one wait in line, fresh 12" of powder to be had. tons of sick bc terrain w/ lift access from cyclone lift (try the cliffs off suicide and ronnies dream for some fun). kinda glad that its further from phx than snowbowl so that all the beginners and weekend warriors dont clutter up the place like snowbowl. terrain makes snowbowl seem like a giant bunny hill. highly recommended!
to the guy who has never been in conditions with low visibility: you are a moron. you mentioned that you have a kid. what a scary thought. please do us all a favor and get a visectomy and/or give the child that you already have up for adoption. nothing good can come from you procreating
The point people are making is this. One, everyone knows Snowbowl is small and behind in technology, if this makes for a bad day don't go. If you can't challenge yourself on a small mountain that is having a great a season of snow , don't go as you must be of Olympic Caliber, because for anyone I know, regardless of quality of the mountain (wave, climbing route, river, single track, etc) you can find a way to challenge yourself. Ride/ski harder, jump higher, faster through glades, more tricks. if you dont like it don't go.
3/11. 1030am. main lift closed. great snow
After a half day at Snowbowl, I got bored. There is not a whole lot of terrain to choose from unless you wanna do BC. The snow conditions were not very good, and I was getting rained on while I was boarding. The snow was rough in some spots, and there was many exposed spots. This mountain is just much too small in comparison to Sunrise, and the snow was sub par when I visited
Until they update this resort there is no reason to go. I drove 3 hours today from Phoenix and the whole resort was shut down when i arrived due to winds. They claimed that they were open on their am report and did not mention anything about wind. I have skied many resorts through the west, and have never seen shutdown in these conditions. A modern resort with some modern lifts would have operated without a problem. So, until they do a serious overhaul, Snowbowl is not worth your money. drive the extra 3 hours and go somewhere else that will definitely be operating
i also grew up in the pacific nw going to hood, bachelor, baker, and whistler. to say that acts of god (or weather conditions) don't effect outdoor activities (whether it be skiing, snowboarding, surfing, kayaking, hiking, or fill in the blank) is just stupid. labeling someone weak or lame because of not wanting to partake in such activities in abhorrent conditions is outright lame in itself.
simmer down, people. quit acting like snowbowl is the snow mecca of the sw. the only reason that this place gets a decent amount of business is due to the close proximity to phx. thats a fact. I don't see people traveling from CO or UT to hit up snowbowl, so just settle down and realize that the typical snowbowl skier/boarder isn't that experienced and people who post subpar experiences about this place aren't attacking you personally.
if you havent encountered low visibility within your years skiing, then you must be either a beginner or you only come out on bluebird days and stay in when the weather is overcast and snowy
